Oil and gas consultancy ClerkMaxwell appoints Business Development Manager

Energy consultancy ClerkMaxwell is moving forward into a new phase with the appointment of business development manager Lynn Smith.

The key role further establishes the engineering and design specialist’s reputation as a rapidly expanding player within the oil and gas sector.

And Lynn will enhance ClerkMaxwell’s competitive offering, bringing with her a range of expertise from within the energy, transport and contracting fields in the public and private sectors.

The former public relations account manager’s experience includes business-to-business PR, corporate communications, promotions, event and exhibition management, advertising and crisis management.

She has been immersed in the Aberdeen business community for more than 15 years and is delighted to be taking on a fresh challenge with ClerkMaxwell.

Lynn said: “This is an entirely new role within an exciting, young company that has swiftly built up an impressive track record and I’m looking forward to helping to move the company on to the next level.”

ClerkMaxwell has been in the marketplace for just 18 months but already has multi-million pound contracts under its belt with more on the horizon.

The company has increased office space at its HQ at Aberdeen’s Salvesen Tower to cope with expansion and currently employs 40 staff with a range of technical and development skills encompassing both topsides and subsea disciplines.

Between them, the senior team of Managing Director John Wilson, Subsea and Pipelines Director Guy Cook, Technical Director Satnam Shoker, Projects Director Sean Close and Executive Officer Alistair Dornan, have more than a century’s engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.

ClerkMaxwell's integrated approach bridges the gap between the conceptual and detailed engineering design phases and is an attractive proposition in today’s challenging climate.

"The company is already enjoying a reputation for delivering highly-technical and demanding projects,” said Lynn, “and I’m looking forward to being part of the team building on that success.”
